1. What a cookie is
A "cookie" is a small text file a site stores in your browser. The same rules apply to similar technologies — localStorage, pixels and tracking scripts. In Bulgaria the consent requirement comes from Art. 4a of the Electronic Communications Act and from the GDPR.
The rule is simple: for anything that is not strictly necessary for the site to work, you have to give us consent first.
2. Our approach
Until you make a choice in the banner, this site loads no external scripts and sets no tracking cookies at all. Google Analytics and Meta Pixel are not downloaded — not merely "switched off". If you decline, your IP address never reaches Google or Meta.
3. Necessary — always on
These need no consent, because without them the site cannot do what you asked it to.
| Name | Type | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
palcars_consent | localStorage | palcars.eu (first party) | Stores exactly what you chose in the banner, so we do not ask again on every page and so we have a record of your consent | 12 months |
Our host (Netlify) may record technical information in server logs — IP address, request time, browser type — for security and diagnostics. These are not cookies and are not used for tracking.
4. Only with your consent
These load only if you allowed them. If you did not, the rows below describe what would happen, not what is happening now.
Analytics — Google Analytics 4
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes one visitor from another | 2 years | |
_ga_<ID> | Maintains session state | 2 years |
We use these to see which pages get read, where visitors come from, and where people drop off. The data is aggregated — we are not trying to work out who you personally are. The IP address is anonymised.
Marketing — Meta Pixel
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_fbp | Meta | Identifies the browser so ad performance can be measured | 3 months |
_fbc | Meta | Records which ad you arrived from | 3 months |
These let us measure whether our Facebook and Instagram ads work and show relevant ads. Advanced Matching, which would send form data to Meta, is switched off.
5. What we deliberately do not use
A few things that are common on other sites are absent here, on purpose, to reduce the data leaving your browser:
- Fonts are hosted by us. They are not pulled from Google Fonts, so Google does not see your IP address when a page opens.
- No embedded maps, videos or iframes from YouTube, Vimeo or Google Maps.
- The available-vehicles spreadsheet is fetched by our server, not by your browser. The request to Google comes from Netlify, not from you.
- No chat widget, no A/B testing, no heatmap tools (Hotjar, Clarity and the like).
- We do not sell data and we do not work with ad exchanges or data brokers.
The Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok and Viber buttons are ordinary links. They load nothing and track nothing until you click them. After that, the relevant platform's own rules apply.
6. How to manage your choice
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time — as easily as you gave it.
If you switch off a category you previously allowed, we delete the corresponding cookies from your browser straight away.
A "Cookie settings" link also sits in the footer of every page on the site.
7. Browser settings
Independently of our banner, every browser lets you block or delete cookies: Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all have a section for this in their privacy settings. Note that clearing site data will also clear the choice recorded here, so the banner will appear again.
8. Changes
If we add a new tool, we will update this page and ask for your consent again — your previous choice will not be applied to something you never saw.
